Community Model

Karachi United leverages the power of football beyond a leisure activity and uses it as a vehicle to promote the holistic development of youth.

Through European Qualified coaches, well-structured programs, various activities, and collaboration with different stakeholders and partners, KU uses sports to cater to grassroots-level challenges in underserved communities.

  1. Community Karachi United has established 11 community centers across Karachi that serve as platforms for youth to engage, learn and train in football. Each community center is overseen by the Ku team and has a qualified coach and community volunteer. Community centers provide free-of-cost football and life skills training to youngsters who otherwise would not have access to such opportunities.
  1. FootballKarachi United provides free-of-cost coaching, equipment and transportation to participants hailing from communities. All participants are selected on merit and given equal opportunities to participate in fair and inclusive sports coaching and skills development programs.
  1. CollaborationKarachi United engages players’ families, coaches, and community members to promote a rich and harmonious sports environment. KU also collaborates with various academic institutions and sports organizations and provides multiple opportunities for its players to participate in different kinds of football leagues and tournaments.

Sponsor a Child

Our society in general, but especially the marginalized communities require support as well as diversity in leadership. One avenue to creating role models is via sport – providing them with the tools, knowledge and confidence to succeed and demonstrate how sport can change lives and contribute to community development.

The Karachi United Academy works on this premise and has a track record of developing footballers that use the sport to make a career and represent Pakistan internationally but also become leaders and ‘change agents’ for their communities. These players espouse values learnt from sport and Karachi United’s holistic development framework to spread good values and positivity, in turn, providing hope for millions of children within their own communities.

The Karachi United Academy development model and curriculum is designed to focus on the player’s development – both as a footballer and as an individual, through their adolescence into young adults. In addition to an advanced football training program (monitored by European qualified coaches), we endeavor to support their fulltime education including life skills training, and guide them on what is expected from an ethical and moral standpoint. We also provide all players with a customized nutritional plan to aid with their growth, which includes ration bags delivered to the player’s house every fortnight. Lastly, we provide transport (from Lyari, Malir, Baldia, etc.) three times a week to ensure player attendance at Karachi United Academy.

As it turns out, 98% of players at the Academy are from less-privileged backgrounds i.e., inner city areas. Keeping this in mind, we are increasingly motivated to develop these players, as their success will have multiple benefits, from the household to the broader community. Significantly, it will provide hope and motivate millions of children who will engage and play, thereby creating healthier, happier and more sustainable communities across Pakistan.

We are reaching out to you to help fund the dreams of these children and their progression not only into becoming football stars but role models, while significantly, giving them a proper chance at a better life. School fees, football coaching, kit, daily nutrition and transportation to our Academy for his football and life skills classes.
