Karachi United School Championship (KUSC)

The Karachi United School Championship (KUSC) stands as Karachi’s leading school and college football tournament. Hosted annually by Karachi United, KUSC brings together top institutions from across the city to compete in four categories: Senior Boys, Senior Girls, Junior Boys, and Junior Girls.

Since launching in 2005, KUSC has created a structured, competitive platform for young footballers. Inspired by collegiate systems in North America, it promotes grassroots development and identifies talent for Karachi United’s pathway. The tournament begins with round-robin league matches, leading into knockout rounds that raise intensity and excitement.

KUSC is more than a competition, it is a movement. The event champions inclusivity, sportsmanship, and leadership. The Senior Girls category was added in 2014-15, Junior Boys in 2019-20, and Junior Girls in 2023-24, highlighting our commitment to gender equality and youth development.

Senior boys compete in full-field 11v11 matches. Other categories use smaller formats like 6v6 or 7v7 on turf fields. Through KUSC, players form lasting friendships, represent their schools, and grow on and off the pitch.

Senior Boys

We introduced the Senior Boys category in 2005 to promote competitive school and college football. It encouraged institutions to invest in programs, facilities, and coaching. This category remains the longest-running, celebrating its 20th edition in the 2024-25 season.

Karachi Grammar School (KGS) dominated early, winning four consecutive titles. The Lyceum broke this streak in 2009-10. KGS responded with a fifth title before Nixor College claimed their first in 2011-12. The City School PAF Chapter won the following year, while KGS added a sixth in 2013-14.

Nixor College captured three of the next four championships. The Lyceum won their second in 2015-16, while Cedar College interrupted Nixor’s run with a win in 2018-19. Nixor then claimed their fifth in 2019-20.

Alpha College celebrated their first title in 2020-21. Cedar followed with their second, and Sceptre College earned their first in 2022-23. In 2023-24, Cedar DHA secured their first title after defeating KGS in their first final in ten years.

At the 20th edition, Nixor made history by clinching a sixth title, equaling KGS’s record after an intense comeback win over Sceptre.

Senior Girls

We launched the Senior Girls category in 2014-15 to empower young women through football. The aim was to provide a platform for skill development, confidence building, and competitive growth.

KGS claimed back-to-back titles after the first season. SMB Fatima Jinnah School made history as the first government school to win, securing the 2017-18 title. Aga Khan schools won three of the next four championships, while Generations won in 2020-21. KGS returned to the top by winning two straight titles.

At the 20th edition of KUSC, KGS extended their dominance by winning their third consecutive and fifth overall title.

Junior Boys

We introduced the Junior Boys category in 2019-20 to promote football among younger students. The goal was to build interest, skill, and sportsmanship from an early age.

Foundation Public School (FPS) won the inaugural season. Aga Khan Garden and Alpha School secured the following titles. FPS reclaimed their spot by winning again in 2022-23, and Bay View Academy earned their first title in 2023-24.

At the 20th edition, HPGS won their first title with a dominant 4-0 victory over Kiran Foundation.

Junior Girls

To support girls’ participation at a younger age, we introduced the Junior Girls category in the 2023-24 season. This marked a major step for youth development and gender equality in sport.

KGS emerged as inaugural champions. They retained the title in the 20th edition, establishing themselves as early leaders in this new category.
