Our objective is achieved via a two-pronged approach: the first involves establishing Centers of Excellence (CoEs) in various parts of the city, that provide free football coaching to underprivileged children and work on the four-tier FEVH approach. Our second major initiative is Football Development, which supplements our first i.e. the CoEs by establishing forums such as leagues and tournaments. Football Development also assists in infrastructure development and football related education for a sustainable industry, and provides opportunities including employment.
Football Training (F)
Sessions run for two hours, thrice a week. Players are provided with football kits, shoes, socks, and other essentials to ensure their wellbeing and enforce proper standards. Youth leagues are established amongst the CoEs, which sparks the spirit of competition, and more importantly, the skills necessary to develop peaceful coexistence through cooperation and exposure to other communities.
We believe that every individual has the right to education, and one of our core fundamentals is to provide basic education to promote and ensure literacy amongst the communities. We currently follow the guidelines and syllabus of Literate Pakistan, but are looking to formulate strategic alliances with educational institutions within the communities to better facilitate the youth.
Vocational training (V)
Our efforts will come to fruition once we are able to facilitate the youth in acquiring the skills to become gainfully employed. While our vocational training program is still being developed, we provide the youth with life skills training and career guidance. Life-skills training instils within the youth soft skills required to prosper in their daily life. These trainings include areas such as conflict resolution, leadership training, time management etc, and is a priority because of its unmatchable positive impact on the youth.
Health Awareness (H)
Health awareness is essential to a sustainable community model. Until quality of life within communities improves, social uplift will remain at a minimum. We understand the need to educate parents to improve the lives of the youth which is why our health talks and assessments are open for the entire community.
The KU Centers of Excellence (CoEs) aim to delve deep within Pakistan’s neglected communities to seek out and develop talented young footballers, while providing education, employment, health awareness, and most importantly, hope. The CoEs are the vehicle through which we hope to bridge social boundaries with football.
